HSA/FSA Eligible

Use pre-tax dollars for your health at Next Health.

Many Next Health diagnostics, IV therapies, and longevity programs can be paid for with HSA or FSA funds. Truemed makes it simple: a short survey, a licensed provider review, and — if you qualify — the documentation your plan needs.

What is an HSA/FSA?

Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts let you set aside money from your paycheck before taxes and spend it on qualified medical expenses. Depending on your bracket, that can make eligible care substantially less expensive than paying with take-home pay.

What is Truemed?

Truemed partners with clinics and brands so customers can determine whether their purchase qualifies as a medical expense. Licensed practitioners in the Truemed network review your health information and, when appropriate, issue a Letter of Medical Necessity you can submit to your benefits administrator.

How it works

01

Complete the health survey

Use our qualification link to answer a short set of questions from Truemed about your health history and goals. It takes about two minutes and happens entirely online.

02

A licensed provider reviews it

An independent licensed provider in the Truemed network evaluates your answers to determine whether the care you're considering helps treat or prevent a medical condition. Eligible customers pay a small Truemed fee.

03

Receive your Letter of Medical Necessity

If you qualify, Truemed issues a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) — the documentation your plan requires to substantiate the expense. The letter is valid for 12 months.

04

Pay as usual, then get reimbursed

Book and pay for your Next Health care with your normal credit or debit card, then submit your receipt along with the LMN to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement.

Questions

What is an HSA or FSA?

A Health Savings Account (HSA) and a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) are tax-advantaged accounts you fund with pre-tax dollars through your employer or health plan. Because the money is never taxed when used for qualified medical expenses, it stretches further than take-home pay.

How much do people typically save?

Because HSA/FSA dollars are pre-tax, your savings are roughly equal to your tax rate. Truemed reports that customers save an average of about 30% when paying for qualified care with HSA/FSA funds.

What is Truemed?

Truemed partners with clinics and brands so customers can determine whether their care qualifies as a medical expense. Licensed providers in the Truemed network review your health survey and, when appropriate, issue a Letter of Medical Necessity you submit to your benefits administrator.

Why is a Letter of Medical Necessity required?

The IRS allows HSA/FSA funds to be spent on items and services that treat or prevent a specific medical condition. For wellness and longevity care, an LMN from a licensed provider is the documentation that establishes that connection. Truemed's letters are valid for 12 months.

Which Next Health services may qualify?

Eligibility is determined individually, but members commonly apply HSA/FSA funds toward diagnostics such as the Baseline Test, Core Physical, and Functional Medicine Panel, as well as select IV therapy and clinical programs. Aesthetic and purely cosmetic treatments generally do not qualify.

Does qualifying guarantee reimbursement?

No. Your plan administrator makes the final determination, and plan rules vary. Next Health and Truemed do not provide tax advice — check with your benefits administrator or tax professional if you're unsure.

Do I need to spend my balance by a deadline?

FSA funds are typically use-it-or-lose-it within the plan year (some plans allow a grace period or limited rollover). HSA funds roll over indefinitely and stay with you if you change jobs.
