Why ReCODE, Why Next Health
"Cognitive Health Has Always Been the Quietest Crisis in Longevity Medicine."
Most of what longevity medicine has built — better metabolic health, lower visceral fat, optimized hormones, refined exercise protocols — has obvious physical signals. We can see the difference, we can measure the difference, and patients feel the difference.
Cognitive decline is the opposite. It moves silently for years before symptoms emerge. By the time most patients seek help, they are already deep into a process that began a decade earlier. Conventional medicine has very little to offer them at that point. And it has almost nothing to offer the much larger group of patients who are at risk but not yet symptomatic.
Dr. Dale Bredesen has spent his career changing that. He developed the ReCODE Protocol — the most rigorous biomarker-driven cognitive optimization program in existence — and his published research is the most credible body of work in the field. He serves on the Next Health Scientific Advisory Council and has been a colleague and collaborator of mine for years.
We are now offering Dr. Bredesen's ReCODE Program at Next Health locations — combining his protocol with the in-person clinical infrastructure that has always been part of how Next Health delivers care: physician evaluation, comprehensive biomarker testing, ongoing supervision, and integration with your broader longevity plan.
This is not a treatment program for Alzheimer's disease. It is a cognitive optimization program for people who want to address the modifiable risk factors that contribute to cognitive decline — and to do so with the rigor that this part of longevity medicine deserves.

The Methodology
The Bredesen Approach to Cognitive Health.
Dr. Dale Bredesen has spent more than three decades researching the underlying biology of cognitive decline. The protocol he developed — and which Apollo Health delivers as the ReCODE Program — is based on the following methodology.
01
The Methodology
Dr. Bredesen's research focuses on the multiple contributing factors that influence cognitive function — including insulin signaling, nutrient status, inflammation, hormones, toxins, infections, and stress response. Rather than targeting a single pathway, the protocol is designed to address the network of modifiable factors his research has identified as relevant to cognitive health.
02
The Personalization
The ReCODE software analyzes more than 100 biomarkers from each participant's blood panel, along with medical history and genetics. The resulting personalized care plan addresses the specific factors most relevant to that individual's biology. No two participants receive the same plan — the protocol's strength is in its precision.
03
The Evidence
Dr. Bredesen and Apollo Health have published research on the protocol — including their 2022 clinical trial results and their 2025 randomized controlled trial. According to Apollo Health, the 2025 trial reported significant improvements in memory and cognition among participants. Full citations and the research record are available at apollohealthco.com.

Decades of research. Personalized to your biology. Delivered through Next Health.
The Delivery Model
Combining a Software Protocol With Real Clinical Care.
Apollo Health offers ReCODE directly to patients as a software-driven subscription. That model works well for some patients — but for many, particularly those wanting clinical oversight, a physician relationship around the protocol changes the engagement entirely.
Differentiator 01
Medical Supervision
Your ReCODE engagement at Next Health includes ongoing physician supervision — not as a one-time consult, but as a continuing clinical relationship. Plan adjustments, prescription support where appropriate, and medical interpretation of your biomarker data all happen with a physician who knows you.
Differentiator 02
Coordinated Biomarker Testing
The ReCODE biomarker panel is comprehensive — but it is one panel. Many participants benefit from additional testing (advanced lipids, hormones, micronutrients, inflammatory markers) that goes beyond the standard panel. Next Health coordinates both into one clinical picture.
Differentiator 03
In-Person Clinical Infrastructure
ReCODE through Apollo Health is delivered through software and remote coaching. ReCODE through Next Health adds the option of in-person care — same-day questions answered by a clinician, integration with on-site IV therapy and wellness technology, and a relationship that builds over months in the same physical space.
Differentiator 04
Part of Your Broader Longevity Plan
If you are already a Next Health member or patient, ReCODE becomes part of your existing care plan — not a separate engagement. Your hormone optimization, IV therapy, weight optimization, and ReCODE engagement are all coordinated by the same clinical team.
The protocol is rigorous. The clinical care around it is what makes it work over time.
Transparent Scope Disclosure
What ReCODE Is — and What It Isn't.
What ReCODE Is
- ✓A personalized cognitive optimization program developed by Dr. Dale Bredesen, MD, based on his research into the modifiable risk factors that influence cognitive function.
- ✓A comprehensive analysis of more than 100 biomarkers that informs a tailored care plan addressing nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle, sleep, stress, and other modifiable factors.
- ✓An ongoing engagement — typically a multi-month or longer commitment as the personalized plan is implemented and adjusted based on follow-up testing.
- ✓Delivered at Next Health under physician supervision, integrated with your broader Next Health care.
- ✓Appropriate for adults who want to proactively address cognitive health, those with family history of cognitive decline, and those experiencing early cognitive concerns who want a thorough biomarker-driven evaluation.
What ReCODE Is Not
- —Not a treatment, cure, or prevention for Alzheimer's disease or any specific cognitive disorder.
- —Not a diagnostic program — Next Health does not diagnose Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive conditions through this program.
- —Not a substitute for medical evaluation of cognitive symptoms by a neurologist, primary care physician, or appropriate specialist. Patients with concerning cognitive symptoms should be evaluated through conventional medical channels in addition to or before pursuing ReCODE.
- —Not FDA-approved as a medical device, drug, or treatment. The ReCODE Program operates as a personalized wellness program.
- —Not appropriate for everyone. Your initial consultation determines whether ReCODE is the right fit for your specific situation.

Is ReCODE Right for You?
Four Patient Profiles Who Pursue ReCODE.
ReCODE is designed for adults committed to proactive cognitive health. The following are the profiles that consistently fit well with the program and the depth of engagement it requires.
Archetype 01
The Family History Patient
Adults with parents, grandparents, or siblings who have experienced cognitive decline. The desire to identify and address modifiable risk factors well before symptoms could appear is a primary motivation for pursuing ReCODE.
Archetype 02
The Proactive Longevity Patient
Existing Next Health members or longevity-oriented patients who have optimized other dimensions of their health — cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal — and are turning attention to cognitive health as the next frontier.
Archetype 03
The Concerned Patient
Adults experiencing subtle cognitive changes — memory hiccups, mental fatigue, word-finding difficulty — who want a thorough biomarker-driven assessment. Your screening consultation determines whether ReCODE is the right next step.
Archetype 04
The Optimizer
Adults with no current concerns and no significant family history, pursuing comprehensive optimization for its own sake. Cognitive health is part of a complete health portfolio.
What to Expect
From Screening to Long-Term Engagement.
- 1
Screening Consultation
Your ReCODE journey begins with a screening consultation with a Next Health physician. Approximately 30 minutes covering your full medical history, current medications, family history, goals, and current cognitive concerns. The screening determines whether ReCODE is the appropriate next step.
- 2
Enrollment in ReCODE
If ReCODE is the right fit, your Next Health team coordinates your enrollment in the Apollo Health ReCODE subscription and orders the comprehensive biomarker panel through Quest Diagnostics — plus any supplementary Next Health testing.
- 3
Biomarker Testing
You complete the ReCODE biomarker panel at a Quest Diagnostics location and any supplementary testing at your Next Health location. The combined panel is typically the most comprehensive cognitive-health-relevant evaluation most patients have ever undergone.
- 4
Personalized Care Plan Review
Once your results are integrated into the Apollo Health software, you receive your personalized ReCODE care plan. Your Next Health physician reviews the plan with you in person — translating recommendations into actionable next steps.
- 5
Implementation and Ongoing Support
Implementation typically extends over many months. The ReCODE platform tracks your progress and hosts your resources. Your Next Health physician remains available for clinical questions, plan adjustments, and integration with your broader care.
- 6
Follow-Up Testing and Refinement
Apollo Health's protocol calls for follow-up biomarker testing at intervals (typically 6 months and beyond) to track changes and refine the care plan. Each round produces an updated personalized plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers Before You Schedule.
Does ReCODE treat or cure Alzheimer's disease?+
No. ReCODE is not a treatment, cure, or prevention for Alzheimer's disease or any specific cognitive disorder. ReCODE is a cognitive optimization program designed to address modifiable risk factors that influence cognitive function. Patients with concerning cognitive symptoms should be evaluated by appropriate medical specialists in addition to or before pursuing ReCODE.
What does Dr. Bredesen's research actually show?+
Dr. Bredesen has published research on the ReCODE Protocol, including a 2022 clinical trial and a 2025 randomized controlled trial. According to Apollo Health, the 2025 trial reported significant improvements in memory and cognition among participants. Full citations are available at apollohealthco.com. Next Health refers all questions about research methodology and outcome interpretation to Apollo Health and Dr. Bredesen's published work.
How is ReCODE through Next Health different from enrolling with Apollo Health directly?+
The protocol itself is the same — the same software, the same biomarker panel, the same care plan algorithm. The difference is the clinical infrastructure around the protocol: physician supervision, in-person consultations, coordinated biomarker testing beyond the ReCODE panel, and integration with your broader longevity care.
How much does ReCODE through Next Health cost?+
Three cost components: the Apollo Health subscription (currently $75/month per Apollo Health), the ReCODE biomarker panel (currently ~$855 initial plus ~$224 follow-up per Apollo Health), and Next Health clinical services (varies by plan; member pricing available). Your screening consultation provides a complete cost picture.
How long is the program?+
ReCODE is designed as a long-term engagement. Apollo Health requires a 12-month minimum commitment for new subscriptions. Follow-up biomarker testing at six months and beyond enables continuous refinement of the personalized plan. Many participants continue engagement for multiple years.
Is Dr. Bredesen personally involved in my care?+
Dr. Bredesen developed the ReCODE Protocol and continues to lead the research underlying it through Apollo Health. His role in your care is through the protocol and software he developed — not through direct one-on-one clinical care. He serves on the Next Health Scientific Advisory Council in a research and advisory capacity. Your direct clinical care at Next Health is provided by your Next Health physician.
What if I already have an Alzheimer's diagnosis?+
ReCODE is offered as a wellness and cognitive optimization program, not as a treatment for diagnosed cognitive disease. Patients with formal diagnoses should continue to be managed by their treating neurologists and physicians. Pursuit of ReCODE in addition to conventional medical care is a decision to make with your neurologist and your Next Health physician together.
What kind of biomarker testing is involved?+
The ReCODE biomarker panel includes more than 100 markers covering nutrient status, hormonal status, inflammation, metabolic function, toxin exposure, infections, genetic factors, and other dimensions Dr. Bredesen's research has identified as relevant. Your Next Health physician may recommend additional testing beyond the standard panel.
Can I do ReCODE remotely or do I need to come to Next Health in person?+
Most of the ReCODE Program is delivered through software, remote coaching, and at-home implementation. Next Health adds in-person screening, ongoing physician consultations, and supplementary testing where appropriate. Many of the Next Health clinical components can be delivered through telehealth depending on circumstances.
What if ReCODE isn't the right fit for me after the screening?+
That is exactly what the screening is for. Many patients pursue ReCODE after the screening; others learn that a different evaluation path is more appropriate. There is no commitment to enroll at the screening — its purpose is to determine appropriate next steps.
